Dougie Mac Superstore targeted in vandal attack

In the early hours of this morning, Monday 26th January, Dougie Mac’s Burslem Superstore was targeted in an incident of criminal damage and theft, leaving staff, volunteers and supporters deeply saddened.

Liz Clarke, Head of Retail at Dougie Mac, said: “We are devastated that our Burslem shop was targeted in this way. It’s incredibly disheartening for our hardworking staff and volunteers, and for the generous supporters who donate and shop with us to help local families. The income from all our shops is hugely important to the hospice, so incidents like this do have a real impact.

“Despite this incomprehensible behaviour, our team have worked incredibly hard to make sure the superstore has been able to reopen today. So please continue to drop off any donations and pop in to look at the great range of items we have on sale.”

Repair costs as well as the possibility of additional security measures will place extra pressure on the hospice’s retail operation, which plays a vital role in supporting local people and funding essential care services.

Our Burslem Superstore is open Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm. For more information please visit: https://dougiemac.org.uk/our-shops/
