Dougie Mac Hospice simply couldn’t survive without the generosity of the local communities of Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.
Each year, the hospice needs £15.4 million to maintain all services with 76p of every £1 spent directly on care services. You can be assured your donation will help support local people during some of their most difficult days.
There are many different ways you can donate – in memory of loved ones, paying in sponsorship or just to show how much you care. Thank you for your support!
Giving in memory is a way to celebrate the life of someone special. A donation in memory of loved ones also serves as a lasting tribute. By giving a donation in memory of your loved one; you, your family and friends are helping to maintain the hospice’s vital end of life care services including pain management, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, chaplaincy, bereavement support and social work.
Together we can make sure those affected by a life-limiting illness receive the very best quality of care, at a time when they need it most.Remember a loved one today
Light up a Life is our annual remembrance campaign where we invite you to donate and dedicate a light on the hospice Christmas tree to remember your loved ones.
Our Light up a Life 2022 campaign will launch in September 2022.
Could you make your tribute to your loved one a monthly gift to the hospice? A monthly gift to the hospice helps us to look ahead and plan for the future.
Whatever the size of your gift, every £1 will make a huge difference to the services we can provide for adults, young adults and children in our local community.
Our virtual remembrance pages are a visual way to remember your loved one, commemorate a poignant time of year, such as a loved one’s birthday, anniversary or in lieu of flowers at their funeral. You’re also welcome to donate and make your dedication just to show how much your loved one means to you.

We are extremely grateful for the support we receive from Trusts and Charitable foundations of all sizes.
As a result of the generosity of trusts and foundations, we have been able to develop and expand the care we provide, fund capital projects as well as continue to meet hospice core costs; allowing us to maintain our excellent hospice services.View our Annual Hospice Reports
During the last financial year, trusts and foundations have played a vital role in supporting the excellent care Dougie Mac provides to local families.
Here are a just a few ways their support has benefitted our local community:
Provided vital remote counselling sessions to children and young adults, who were struggling with anxiety and social isolation, during the Covid lockdown.
Purchased modern TVs and DVD players for Inpatient rooms. Being able to watch favourite soaps/films or enjoy mindfulness sessions helps bring some calmness and normality.
Supplied patients and loved ones with decorative memory boxes to help collate special memories. Our team have also helped support the recording of videos and music and guide families in what is important to them.
Leaving a gift to the hospice in your Will is not just a donation… it’s your continued support.
Making your Will is an important way to remember the friends, family and causes you care about after your death. A donation to Dougie Mac in your Will costs you nothing during your lifetime but can offer comfort, care and support to local people and families when they need it most.
Gifts in Wills equate to 19% of Dougie Mac’s total income each year.
