Dougie Mac are proud to have 3 Admiral Nurses supporting families and people with dementia in the last 12 months of their life.

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses. They provide life-changing support to people living with dementia and their families. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families face the future with confidence.

The Dougie Mac Admiral Nurse team provide specialist advice, guidance, wellbeing sessions and ongoing support.

Approach Dementia Services

Approach Dementia Support has been providing specialist dementia services in Staffordshire since 1981. Approach offers quality services to promote positive wellbeing for both individuals living with dementia and their families. They believe that anyone affected by dementia should be supported to live their life the way they choose.

Services provided by Approach are:

  • Dementia Support Groups and Wellbeing activities
  • Carer Cafes
  • 1-2-1 Support
  • Dementia Training
  • Advice and Guidance

In April 2024, Approach Dementia Support merged with Dougie Mac.

After working closely together since forming a strategic alliance in 2018, this merger is the next step to enhance the care for people living with dementia in our local community.

Approach’s existing support services, including 1-2-1 and group based activities, will continue to be delivered as normal by Approach employees who have now joined Dougie Mac’s Wellbeing Team.
