Dougie Mac calls on avid knitters to make tiny jumpers

Dougie Mac is looking for keen knitters to create tiny Christmas jumpers as part of its Christmas Jumper Day fundraising.

The hospice is holding its Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 8th December and is looking for avid knitters to create hundreds of tiny Christmas jumpers which will be used to decorate cards for the special people involved in its Christmas Jumper Day. A knitting pattern for the tiny knits is available on Dougie Mac’s website.

Deborah Vickers, Head of Business and Community Fundraising said, “Christmas Jumper Day is one of our favourite days of the year and we love seeing everyone in their festive knits and having lots of fun together.

We’re hoping that local schools, businesses and community groups will get involved and help us to make this year our biggest and best Christmas Jumper Day ever.

“We also wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone who helps to make our festive fundraising a success, so it seems fitting to decorate our thank you cards with mini Christmas jumpers. We’re hoping that any keen knitters with some spare wool and free time will help us.”

It’s so easy to take part in Dougie Mac’s Christmas Jumper Day. Simply get together with your colleagues, classmates, friends and family, pull on your festive knits and make a donation to Dougie Mac.

The hospice’s official Christmas Jumper Day is on Friday 8th December, but you can choose any day that’s suitable. Whatever amount you’re able to donate, whether it’s £1 or £5, your support will really make a difference and enable Dougie Mac to continue to provide exceptional care for people of all ages across our local community.
