Dougie Mac remains one of the UK’s Best Charities to Work for

Dougie Mac has retained its three star rating in the prestigious Best Companies 2024 Accreditation – the highest possible ranking – and confirmation that the hospice continues to be a World-Class Organisation to work for.

This is the second year that Dougie Mac has achieved the highest accolade in The Best Companies accreditation, which is based entirely on employee feedback. Earlier this year all Dougie Mac employees were once again encouraged to complete an anonymous survey to have their say about working at the hospice. More than 76% of Dougie Mac employees completed the confidential survey, sharing their thoughts on key areas including leadership, wellbeing and teamwork.

David Webster, Chief Executive of Dougie Mac, said, “I’m delighted that we have retained our three star, world-class status for a second year.  Last year we achieved the rating for the first time, following the highs of our 50th Birthday, so for our exceptional levels of staff engagement to be recognised for a second year is something to be really proud of.

“Our teams of staff and volunteers work incredibly hard to ensure we offer excellent care for local people, of all ages, across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. And without the generosity of our local community we simply wouldn’t be able to continue our specialist care services. I’m extremely proud and grateful to everyone who makes Dougie Mac the very special place that it is.”

2024 saw Dougie Mac take part in the Best Companies survey for the fifth time after first introducing the initiative to employees in 2019.
