Families of children and young adults in Staffordshire supported by £10,722,514 partnership with Morrisons.

A partnership between the UK’s leading children’s palliative care charity Together for Short Lives and Morrisons has raised £10,722,514 in just two years and nine months.

Through the support of local Morrisons stores and sites, £10,722,514 has been raised for children’s hospices, including Dougie Mac’s Children and Young Adult Services, making a significant difference to the lives of the children and young people and their families it supports.

Throughout the partnership, colleagues at Morrisons stores across the country have been raising vital funds for children’s hospices in many different ways, such as in-store fundraisers, marathons, treks, skydives and more. Dougie Mac has also benefited from Morrisons’ in-store promotional event, Every Pack Gives Back, and a number of charity products such as a branded Together for Short Lives bear, a tote bag and pin badges.

Deborah Vickers, Head of Business and Events Fundraising at Dougie Mac, said, “We’re so grateful for the fantastic support we’ve had from our local Morrisons stores and especially the amazing generosity of their staff and customers. Thanks to this partnership, through the Morrisons Building a Legacy Together Grant, we were able to completely refurbish the kitchen within our children’s services.  This is just one great example of the direct impact Morrisons has had on the wellbeing of the children, young adults and families we support. On behalf of everyone at Dougie Mac, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Morrisons, their staff and their customers for making such a huge difference.”

Together for Short Lives CEO, Nick Carroll said: “The Morrisons partnership has allowed us to raise millions for children’s hospices across the UK, which are a lifeline to seriously ill children and their families. We have already witnessed the significant impact this has had on families in Staffordshire and are extremely grateful for the support of Morrisons colleagues and customers.”
